Lumi Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Lynx Group LLC ("Lynx Group", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use the Lumi mobile app and related services (together, "Lumi"). By using Lumi you agree to the practices described here.
- We collect what Lumi needs to work: your clothing photos, the profile details you choose to share and what you create in the app.
- Photos and text are processed by AI service providers only to deliver the feature you asked for.
- We do not sell your personal information, we do not show ads and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- You can delete your account and all its data at any time in Profile → Delete account.
1. Who we are
Lumi is operated by Lynx Group LLC, 1209 Mountain Road Place NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110, United States. Contact: support@lynxapps.io.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information. You can start as a guest without providing an email. If you create an account, we collect your email address and a password (stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider). If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name (if you share it), your email address (or an Apple private relay address) and an account identifier from that provider.
- Profile information. Details you choose to add, such as your name, gender, date of birth or age, height, weight, body type, sizes, style preferences, favorite occasions and your city.
- Photos. Photos of your clothing, product images from store links you paste, and, if you use those features, a full-body photo for virtual try-on and a selfie for color analysis.
- Content you create. Closet items and their details (such as brand, size and price paid), outfits, favorites, calendar entries, try-on results and messages you exchange with Sienna, Lumi's AI stylist.
- Support messages. Information you include when you contact us.
Information collected automatically
- Usage records. Counts of AI features used (for example, chat messages and try-ons) so we can apply plan limits and credits, and to prevent abuse.
- Technical data. Basic information needed to operate the service, such as app version, device type, language and server logs (including IP address) kept for security and troubleshooting.
- Purchase information. Subscription status, product and transaction identifiers received from Apple or Google through our subscription provider. We never receive your full card details.
Location
Lumi only accesses your device location if you tap Use my current location and grant permission. We use it to find your city and save approximate coordinates to show the weather and suggest outfits for it. You can instead type a city, and you can change or remove it at any time in your profile. Lumi does not track your location in the background.
Learned style preferences
To make Sienna's advice more personal, Lumi keeps a short list of style preferences inferred from your conversations (for example, "prefers neutral colors"). You can view and edit this list in Profile → What your stylist has learned.
3. How we use information
- To provide Lumi's features: identifying and tagging clothing, removing photo backgrounds, creating outfits, weather-aware suggestions, the stylist chat, virtual try-on, color and body-shape analysis, calendar and statistics.
- To manage your account, subscription and credits.
- To send the optional daily outfit reminder, if you turn it on. These reminders are scheduled on your device and can be turned off in Profile or in your device settings.
- To provide support, keep the service secure, prevent fraud and abuse and comply with the law.
- To understand and improve how Lumi works, using aggregated or de-identified information.
We do not use your photos or personal information for advertising, and we do not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you based solely on automated processing.
4. AI processing
Many Lumi features rely on artificial intelligence. When you use one, the relevant content (for example, a clothing photo, your outfit pieces, your full-body photo or your chat message, together with the profile details needed for the request) is sent securely to an AI service provider that processes it on our behalf and returns the result. AI results, including try-on images and style advice, are generated automatically, may be inaccurate and are previews rather than exact representations.
Before any of your data is sent to an AI provider, Lumi explains what is shared and asks for your permission in the app. We record when you gave it. If you do not want your data processed this way, you can stop using the AI features and delete your account at any time.
No training and no biometrics. We do not use your photos, chat messages or other content to train AI models. Our AI providers may use your content only to provide their services to us; under their business terms they do not train their models on it, although they may keep anonymized or aggregated usage statistics to operate and improve their services. Lumi does not perform facial recognition and does not create or store biometric identifiers (such as face geometry or face templates) from your photos. A selfie used for color analysis is only used to estimate your coloring (for example, skin, hair and eye tones).
5. How we share information
We share information only with service providers that help us run Lumi, under contracts or terms that limit their use of the data to providing services to us:
| Provider | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Hosting, database, file storage, authentication | All account data, profile, photos and content |
| Anthropic | AI analysis of clothing and photos, outfit creation, stylist chat | Photos, outfit and closet details, profile details relevant to the request, chat messages |
| fal.ai | Virtual try-on images and background removal | Full-body photo and clothing photos |
| RevenueCat | Subscription management | Anonymous app user ID, purchase and subscription status |
| Apple / Google | Payments and app distribution | Handled under their own privacy policies |
| Open-Meteo | Weather forecasts and city search | City name or approximate coordinates (no account data) |
| Microlink | Reading product images from store links you paste | The store link |
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights, safety or property of our users, Lynx Group or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information. We do not sell or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
6. Data retention and deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual closet items, outfits and your chat history in the app at any time. To delete everything, go to Profile → Delete account (or follow the steps on our account deletion page): your account, profile, photos and content are permanently deleted from our systems. Limited records may be kept where required by law or for legitimate purposes such as fraud prevention, and residual copies in backups are deleted on their normal schedule. Purchase records held by Apple, Google or RevenueCat are governed by their policies. Deleting the app does not delete your account; use the in-app option or email us.
7. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, photos are kept in private storage accessible only through short-lived signed links, and access is restricted so each user can only read their own data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and review our safeguards regularly.
8. Your choices and rights
You can access, correct and delete your information in the app, or email support@lynxapps.io. Depending on where you live, including California and other U.S. states, the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of or a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing and to withdraw consent. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. We may need to verify your identity before responding. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Where the GDPR applies, we process your information to perform our contract with you (providing Lumi), based on our legitimate interests (security and improving the service), with your consent (for example, location and photos you choose to upload) and to comply with legal obligations.
8A. Users outside the United States
Lumi is operated from the United States. If you use Lumi from another country, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States as described in section 10. Where local law applies, such as the EU and UK GDPR or Brazil's Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD), you have the rights described in section 8, including confirmation of processing, access, correction, anonymization or deletion of unnecessary data, portability, information about who we share data with, and withdrawal of consent. Requests and questions about data protection, including those directed to our data protection contact (in Brazil, the encarregado), can be sent to support@lynxapps.io with the subject "Privacy request". We respond within the time required by applicable law, generally within 15 to 30 days.
9. Children
Lumi is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use Lumi only with a parent's or guardian's permission. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International transfers
Lynx Group is based in the United States and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for these transfers.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by other appropriate means before they take effect. The effective date above shows when it was last updated.
